Possibly Targeted. I opened Samsung pay today and there is a rewards hunt on the home page that earns you 2k points for visiting a Verizon store. I've done this before and the points were useful for buying accessories etc.

Offer expires 12/25.

2000 points is worth $10. YMMV as it appears to be only valid for Verizon customers.

I never see these "rewards hunt" offers... there was one for Tmo too not too long ago. I don't even see where they would exist in the app.

When I open Samsung Pay it opens to the Home screen. There is a slide show banner of special offers at the top. Under the slide show there is a "Cash Back Awards" category and under that there is the "Rewards Hunt".

It's definitely carrier specific. I read in another thread that if you have multiple carrier Sims laying around and an unlocked phone, you can collect from all the stores but I can't verify.

This offer will only appear on phones that were bought from carriers and not unlocked...
You can also flash carrier firmware on your unlocked phone to get the offers

If the phone was from t mobile initially you'll get the 1000pts at t mobile offer.. doesn't matter what sim card you have in the phone.. it's dependent on the carrier firmware running on the phone today

But many posted that they was able to get points from different carriers just inserting their sim card. Did you try it yourself or just guessing?

I think it depends upon the SIM card you are using. I m using unlocked sprint note 8. I used both att and tmob sim to receive 1000 points each last time.

I did try inserting different sim cards but didn't work.. did the firmware flash thing during the last reward hunt and was successful.. it's my guess but I've got 4 different phones and changing sim cards didn't do anything on even 1 so I'm pretty skeptical that sim card matters
