You may or may not have gotten the same deal as as freecash coupon that works online too, they sent one to me around the time this came out. They also sent a $5 off $20 for Kmart and a $10 off $35 Kmart. Check your SYW account.
Oh. The local one here is closing next month, not sure if they are taking coupons or not being they are clearing things out.
Usually they will still take coupon before the liquidation sales begins. Once the liquidation starts, the liquidation company is in charge. They will not participate in any Sears promotion or accept coupon. However you can still use the SYW points until the store is finally closed.

My closest Sears (San Bruno, CA) was on the big list released a couple of months ago. Starting on Dec 2, the liquidators took over. Not sure about coupons, but for me it did not even matter since I generally only buy tools, and the first step of the liquidation is to jack everything up to full price minus something like 10 or 20%. When the regular everyday price is a 50% or more discount off the full price, that's a big price jump, and coupons don't matter.
So anyway, if your store was on that list of about 80, it could be that Dec 2 was the day.
Luckily I have a Sears 15 minutes away from me still open. A couple months ago I ran into an emergency and needed a tool for slightly over $100 and got back $100 in points with 4 installments of $25.
I need to do an order pickup for my third installment and just got my fourth installment which expires on 12/30. So I want to kill a few birds with one stone by doing the pickup and then shopping in-store to spend the last $25.
I'll hold off until next week and hopefully, there will be another coupon.

Don't know if this helps much, since it's kind of a crappy offer, but looks like you can text JOLLY to 73277 for a $10 off $40.
