For the benefit of the impluse buyer, read this first. I did a bit of research on this bike and the consensus is that at the common sale price of $299, it's appropriately priced for what you get. This normally sells for $399, not the $699 listed on dick's site, and for what you recieve the quality is closer to the 299 mark than it is the 399 mark.

Other than that it seems like a fairly well received bike for the price.

We got this bike for my 13yr old for same price. Was a great purchase at this price. We got ours in store and I was able to use the $20 off $100 coupon on top of sale price. Seems this coupon is less restrictive than others when combining. If you sign up for text alerts, they will text you the $20 off coupon. Might only work online, and it may not combine, but worth a shot for additional savings.

I got this bike back in October when it was the same price. I googled coupons and found a 20% off coupon that was able to be applied to the sale price that brought it down to $250 with tax. It has been a great entry level bike.

Bought an aggressor a couple years ago for my wife. Imo it's decent for a gravel bike at $300 but I wouldn't spend more than that on it. I have taken it on some single track and didn't ruin it, but I also quickly decided to spend more and bought myself a proper, lower end mountain bike with air suspension and 1x11 (granted it was 3x the price).

Also, Dicks setup is trash. Chain slips under any load. I recommend budgeting to have a bike shop set it up properly.

The trail this guy is riding is no more than a walking path. That said, he covers the features and gives one a look. Decent entry level bike, but not ready for anything rough. Can't believe they did not use tapered headset though. Spending $200 more on BikesDirect gets one a bike that will handle the real trails.

For commutes just get a hybrid bike, better option if your commute is mostly smooth surfaces.

Thanks OP, finally ordered one. Paypal + Chase Freedom for another 5% in points.

P.S. I told a month ago they HAD to go back to $299 and was getting replies like "nope, not happening because tariffs, new reality" etc. Deals are very often about waiting.
