Yes true but if I were to spend $150 on a niche product like this, I would want it to last for many, many years and work for my future devices as well. If the new iPhone 12 does indeed have USB-C, then this device would only work for my old iPhones and not any new ones I purchase in the future. That's basically what I meant is all.
Is this model enough to check where drafts are coming from in a house?

Didn't know what this was until I clicked and read it. It's a thermal imaging camera for your smart phone. Can be pretty useful for homeowners. I wouldn't get the iOS version as I'd expect lightning to be obsolete soon (hopefully the iPhone 12 will get USB-C like the iPad did). Unless a USB-C to lightning adapter would work.

A lot of people have a dedicated iOS device for these too

aside from resolution, any other major differences between the gen 3 and the Flir One Pro? This is a great price for Gen 3 but I've also debated the Pro version as well...thanks for any feedback!

Yes, the visual (non-thermal) overlay is a lot sharper on the Pro (which I have). Also 3 spot meters (vs 1), IR scale, and high-temp mode (up to 400C):

This model is sensitive to 150mK. Better to spend more $$$ to get the pro model which will detect down to 70 mK.
