I just bought this from chewy for a similar price. I didn't think my cats would like it but they absolutely love it... they stretch so high compared to my other scratching posts... highly recommend this
Got mine in 2017 for $28 last time but tempted to get another as well, cats love it and as someone else said, they get such a good stretch. It seems to hold up way better than many others, too.
Agree with other comments. Worth every penny. Used to buy a $10 crappy one from Petsmart/Petco at Christmas time every year. They were always torn up by August. I bought one of these 5-6 years ago, and it's still going strong. Cat loves it. I may never need to buy another scratch post.
This is 100pc the best scratching post you can buy. They last forever and are super sturdy.
Pro tip: Some cats like to scratch vertically and some horizontally. If, like mine, yours ignore it at first, try unscrewing the bottom plate and lay it length-wise on the floor.
Echoing others, this hands down is the best scratching post. Built well, lasts forever, and doesn't get little pieces of scratchy post everywhere. At $50 it's entirely worth it. This is a steal now with the discount.
Also, if you don't need one, feel free to ship directly to a shelter/adoption place. Poor homeless cats will love you lots as it gives them joy.
I've tried so many different scratching posts over the years and literally no other post compares to this one.

Best scratching post ...PERIOD ! Ive had mine for 6+yrs and my cat uses it a ton everyday , and only now showing its age to where it should be replaced (had a back-up purchased along time ago ).
Since my old one will be replaced with my back-up one , I should buy another .
*note , if your cat does not take to it right away , put/rub/spray some catnip on it and they should come around to using/liking it .
I'm afraid that if I buy this they'd ignore it and still use my couch.
gotta try something to get em to avoid your couch. usually trial and error to see what your cats like. also using reward system/moving this in front of your couch helps. this is one of the better scratchers because it allows them to stretch too since it is vertical

Pretty safe bet if you put it right next to the couch, especially if it is just one end of it they are usually scratching. If it is on the other side of the room it probably won't be as effective, but it should still reduce the amount they use the couch. Highly doubt it will be ignored completely, cats love these.
Got mine in November of last year, just now showing wear. The cats love it, took a little coaxing at first since they seemed unsure of the height but just adding lore catnip to it, then what was bundled in, got them on board!
