Nah. I have a few pairs that I use for running, work and skating, and all of them hold up pretty well. You probably just had a dud which I never gotten from them for decades wearing their product.

Two years actually! Used it recently for shoes I got in early 2018
I had a jordan basketball shoe from them that cracked slightly on the outsole after a year of use. I filed a claim, and they gave me a full priced voucher to use on Nike.com. I got more back than what I paid for the damn things lol.
