I would stay away from the atomic line. Reviews say they aren't great at all. Not much smaller than the full size and definitely less powerful

How do the atomic compare the other 20v or the xr versions?

I believe the atomic is the compact version of the xr, but still uses the same 20v batteries as the xr and the rest of the 20v line.

Would I be able to buy and return the tool set for a refund and keep the drill/impact combo kit?
here is the combo kit without the tool set.

The lowest price I've seen for this combo, including the tool set, was $179 during BF. Still an excellent deal.

I have been using the atomic series- they are excellent and and most importantly light yet powerful. Paired them with 4ah and up battery then you're all set.

Agreed. If you can find a deal for a little more and better battery... go for it. Those 1.3s are hot garbage.

Second that. The 1.3's go on lights for me and that's it. I do like the atomics paired with the 2 or new style 3's. Anything bigger and I'm putting it on one of my full size tools.

They are fairly compact. I haven't compared side by side but I have the 20v XR set and the Atomic seems a little smaller. I went with the XR for size and I got it during that $149 deal, otherwise, I probably would have went with the Atomic.

The Atomic is smaller than the Milwaukee 12V fuel: https://toolguyd.com/dewalt-atomi...omparison/

1.3 ah is very weak. Probably for a flash light. The xr I have that goes with trimmer and blower is 4ah and is very compact already so I'm not sure of benefit on the 1.3

this is not the same tool set as the costco one. the costco one has 3 wrenches and a few other differences.

i also bought the costco set and i am extremely happy with the quality and box dimensions.
