I bought this last week as a gift. It's fine for small distances, but the coil is VERY tight, and will pull out from the jack with any real tension. I'm trying to loosen it up a bit which I think will help, but right now it feels like a weapon.

Yeah, I personally hate coils for this reason. Such an unnecessarily cumbersome piece to achieve a vintage look.

I agree IF your amp has you plugging directly into the front of it. This approach really isn't suitable.

If your amp has you plug into the top, and you use the 90 degree angle, it works fine. (puts the plug end in shear, rather than applying a "pull")
