Philips 60-Watt Equivalent A19 WiZ Connected Dimmable Wi-Fi Enabled Smart LED Light Bulb Color and Tunable White (2-Pack)

Price per bulb comes out to $9.74, lowest I have seen for a Philips color Smart LED. Lower price available only on the 2 pack. 1 pack and 4 pack are more expensive.

No Hub required. Directly connects to your router via Wifi. Controlled using Wiz app and can be integrated to Alexa/Google Home etc.

Not compatible with Philips Hue Family.

I have experience with the Yeelights (Yi/Xiaomi), Philips Hue, Merkury (from Walmart), and yet to test this one (got it on BF from Home Depot) and the urlhasbeenblocked (from Best Buy).

So far, the Hue system is the best and I can see why it's the most expensive and why the hub is so great. The light bulbs, strips, and wall dimmer connected to the hub/Hue app seamlessly. I was shocked that the setup was so quick.

The Yeelight was generally an easy setup that required giving the app your WiFi password, go to WiFi settings and connect to one light at a time, then go back to the app for final pairing. This was required every time the lights just so happened to disconnect from the router or a power outage. That was annoying but acceptable. However, the Yeelight app was updated and my lights no longer connect at the final pairing step.

The Merkury set did not connect to my WiFi at all. Returned those in a heartbeat.

Hopefully I can test the other two brands soon. My conclusion so far is that the Hue system is worth the extra $$ for less frustration and headache.
I don't have any personal experience. But my friend who does home automation installs for a living likes these. He says the wiz app is nicer than the hue one. No issues with Alexa or Google Assist either. He compared them to Hue side by side and the colors are identical.
I have these and hue. I own several A19s of the color hue variety, and they're just awesome. I bought a couple (Phillips) wiz BR30s to try out because the hue BR30s are ridiculously expensive (to me), and rarely go on sale. The wiz bulbs perform well, decent pre sets, scheduling, compatibility with smartthings/Alexa/Google home etc, and are a fantastic price point compared to hue.

That being said, their colors are far inferior. Not nearly as rich, another commenter said diluted, which is a great description. Wiz app is not as well developed from a UX standpoint either. I may pick up a few more for my recessed cans, because I just can't bring myself pay for the 6 hue BR30s I need. Price seems okay, not far off from the special value that Home Depot has had them at for a while now.

This is likely a price mistake since the 1 pack is a special buy and at higher price. I have ordered a couple to see if it gets fulfilled.

This was released mid of this year and came to HD stores in September. Doubtful if many people would have long term feedback (compared to hue) on these ones.

More details on below link.

https://www.androidpolice.com/201...ue-bridge/

Some people wouldn't want to go with another app or ecosystem if they already have hue or kasa bulbs. And some others would prefer a hub based system rather than bulbs which directly connect to wifi router, though I haven't seen any performance issues connecting 20+ of other wifi bulbs/switches on to my router (rather than going thru a hub).

This is not a price mistake, lol.

Agree, not a very slick deal. Looks like there is a 3$ discount on the bulbs when buying the Google mini and for this pack, it is getting applied automatically without purchasing the google mini.

Do let me know if you find any other Color LED smart bulbs for less than 10$ each from a reputable manufacturer?

How do these compare to the Feit bulbs at Costco? Those are $16 for a 2 pack. They also have a 4 pack of wiz color bulbs for $38.

I've got a dozen of these in the house. Br30s and these bulbs. They work great. Wiz got bought by Phillips this year. App does about everything you need but easy to work with alexa and Google as well. Has two dozen active presets (Christmas, wakeup, sleep, ocean, forest, romance, party, etc) or you can pick from any color on the spectrum or fine tune your white. I dont own hue but from what I've read hue has great colors. I can say the wiz orange and greens are a little diluted but still very good.

Only downfall is that they are wifi, so if you power off the circuit you need 30-45 seconds to connect to wifi before they will accept changes from the app. That being said, you can set 2 presets that will work instantly from the switch (normal on, and flick the switch twice for the second). I'm not sure if hue is any faster.

I'm happy with them. Continuing to buy more.

Costco had these 4 for $30 from 12/1 to 12/24. Not everyone has a Costco membership but $10 a bulb is meh.

$10/bulb is average deal. Costco have had 2 pack wifi bulbs for $22. Not sure how this is a hot deal.

Wiz is alright if you have a decent 2.4ghz WiFi network, and don't need HomeKit integration. The app is fine, and will probably improve over time now that Philips owns them.

edit: the best Wiz feature is what they call "rhythms", where the bulb will automatically adjust to different settings throughout the day. If I was going to go back to Wiz, I'd set this up on each bulb and then treat them like dumb lights and control them by wall switch. It'd be much harder to do something similar in the Hue app
