So to solve your issue would be to bring some snacks and headphones. Got it.

Sounds a lot less expensive than "paying double"
May is a perfect time to visit France, with mostly lovely weather, and slightly less crowds before the school ends (mid June).
The price is great, especially considering the DIRECT flights.
Moreover, United basic economy fares for trans-atlantic flights do allow a full-size carry-on bag.
Bon Voyage!
No need to use Skyscanner; United flight search [united.com] has a "Calendar shop" option that shows the cheapest flights within a month. Besides, it is always best to book directly with the carrier than going through a third-party agency, because if you happen to have a flight issue, you deal with the carrier more efficiently than through an intermediary.

Note: all cheep flights are "operated by United".

For me - big NO GO.
I flew few month ago United Business to Europe and after that I'd pay double rather then use United again.

The only positive experience was plane and seat. (New plane and comfy recliner seat)

Negative:
1. Rude stewardesses
2. No decent service
3. Meals suck.

For these prices, you could do much worse imo...

Honestly, for what Business Class costs, I think he's fine with these complaints.

I'm not paying 5x coach fares to bring my own stuff.

(Not that I've ever flown anything but economy, but maybe that's QED)

Although I sometimes fly business on company expense, I would not complain over those amenities.

Like, I still bring my noise cancelling headphones (Bose 700) with an airline adapter, because it's way better than whatever the airline provides (even though some airlines like Emirates does have decent noise cancelling headphones).

When it comes to service, maybe the nuts are cold (they should be roasted warm), but the route schedule and when can I arrive is more important than if those nuts are served warm, IMO. Definitely not worth 5x. (I still like them fresh roasted, tho)
