I miss plasma TVs big time..
Can't comment on the "$5 mediatek processor" but I can say this is one of the highest rate TVs out there. Check it out on RTINGS.com. I got a 900E and have loved it. Android is kinda whack but if that's the only negative it's fantastic in my book.
Highly recommend.
The only higher end Samsung I've seen is my buddy's Q70 and I would say yes the 900F has a better picture than that.

Just a caution: this is an end of life product as Sony decided to not push any major firmware update. It also has half baked Dolby Vision implementation and a $5 mediatek processor that is so slow that it drives people crazy. That being said, at $899 it's okay price, may be even borderline good, IMHO :-)
There was a huge firmware update a few months back completely updating the OS...
I like webOS on my oled the most but don't mind this flavor of Android tv at all. It's better than plenty of others and most importantly the TV picture quality is great.

I have this TV. Yeah the Android TV stuff is slow. Get a Roku stick, Fire TV, etc if you're going to do alot of streaming. But this is easily the best looking picture quality I've ever seen from a LED TV.

I own this TV and the colors and motion handling are excellent. I use it with an Apple TV 4K to utilize dolby vision so I can't comment on the Android OS but at this price it's a great deal.

Still rocking a 54' Panasonic Plasma but feel a strong pull for this (bigger screen, HDR, 4K). Talk me out of it please!
