It's the lowest price I've ever seen in Amazon. (and also the camelcamelcamel says)
Normally It's priced at $500-600. With this price, I think it's no-brainer.

Not sure why this isn't getting more attention at this price. Best I've seen this year I think.

why are people paying extra for the worm drive? More torque and less likely to stall? Is that a real issue with 15A motors?

Because it's a superior design. More power for cutting with the same current draw.

This is a damn good deal. I paid $600 or more for this saw just a few months ago and that was the cheapest price I could find at the time.

How does the worm drive compare to regular direct drive? One thing I miss on the direct drive portables is they seem to be less smooth and have more vibration than a larger belt driven table saw. How does the worm drive compare?

Superior to what? Direct drive? Anything is superior to direct drive universal motor saws.

How sturdy is that stand design? It uses to large diameter plastic wheels for support while cutting.

Would this be good for a first table saw for home use?

I've been looking for a table saw and eyeballing this Skilsaw and the DeWalt you mentioned. What are your pros for the DeWalt over this one?

Same. Have a few good buddies that use the Dewalt and swear by the rack and pinion fence with the 32" rip capacity and rock solid stand. Planning to use it as a beginner woodworking saw with the option of having it be portable. Just waiting on the DWE7491rs to go on sale.
