Have this, works fine. However mine doesn't have that Rosewill text... that must be what they call new pattern design simply by adding that text.

Anyway, the timer is a bit weird. The timer always start at 0:30, so that's 30minutes. I have to go all around to get back to 5 minutes or 10 minutes that I actually want. Also the minus change the hours while the plus change the minute, it's weird that way.

Fan is noisy, it's a computer fan but it's still noisy. Must be the old kind of computer fan.

Decent deal, especially if you need it now. These go on sale for $35 semi-regularly so if you're like me and looking for a second one - but not in any hurry - it might be worthwhile to wait.

If you don't need 1800W (which I don't for my second unit), the 1300W Insignia has gone on sale for $30 fairly recently.

How do you keep track of the price in Newegg?

How long to boil enough water to cook a deluxe pack of shells and cheese? It takes 13 minutes for a good rolling boil on my gas range.
It takes 45 minutes on my electric burner from menards.

45 minutes! That's insane!

If I were you I'd invest in an electric tea kettle, takes a couple minutes tops for a liter or so.

I use mine regularly. It's quick to heat and stays at the temp you set it on... Pot is obviously garbage.

you menards burner has a thermostat in it that will be a 'saftey over heat" shut off. You could... bypass it and create, but without care it could be a fire hazzard...
I have one of these induction tops and mine boils 4 cups of water in 4 minutes. they claimed it did it in 3 on the amazon listing- thats a lie- but 4 minutes was pretty good too.
The only draw back is it ONLY works with magnetic pans. Cheap pans rarely are- so if you are at a point in your life where you don't have a good pan set- this might not be for you.

We bought it last month to make shabu shabu hot pot. it is super nice.
it has temp setting and wattage setting.
we usually use 1800W for boiling and turn it down to 200F when its boiled.

we cut up cabbage, mushrooms, tofu, meat.
the pot starts heating really fast actually. I don't think it took 45 mins at all.
when the hot goes on the highest, it makes like an annoying high pitch magnet noise. it so strong that once you turn it on, the bottom water start bubbling already even though the water is still cold. once its warm, i put veggies in and put a lid on. not too long later, it's boiling and ready to shabu some meat. i think maybe 20 mins?

Picked one of these up last time and it works very well, heats up quickly. Using a cast iron pan and press I get a good sear on steaks, make "smash style" burgers and can saute onions outside without stinking up the house. It cleans up easily too since the entire top is smooth. It's a good value IMHO.

I bought this last time as well. The only complaint, I wish it had more temp / power settings. Otherwise, great deal, great product.

I have yet to use (even wash!) the included dollar store pot. (I have nice pots & pans that work on induction.)

I haven't timed it, but yes, heats cold water super quick. (Almost instant temp changes.)

If you want electric kettle, I loved my Aldi $15 special until I scored a deal on Cuisanart programmable electric kettle - CPK-17(??). 😉

I want an induction mostly for (efficiently) boiling water and heating milk. Any suggestions? Tea kettle the best bet?

I wouldn't use a tea kettle to heat milk. But making chai is my use case too. Hopefully doing that would be speedy in an induction cooktop.

If you have a good size Asian grocery market nearby, checkout their prices. The 1800w are usually $30.
