In these vids they look at the size and types of filter media and the way the valve is constructed. the Fram media is literally glued to cardboard... Yea I know a billion filters and no huge problems, but after seeing them cut open opens your eyes..

Why not get the cheaper and better supertech filter? The fram filters are made out of cardboard.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but I wouldn't do that to my car.
It's worked great for me and I always get at least 250k miles out of my engines. My 2002 Ford Escape is at 330k miles on the original engine

But if you can get something better for cheaper why stick with Fram?
In a comparison vs ST
Fram filters are noted for a couple of major missteps in terms of the construction. For instance, Fram uses a metal mold spring as opposed to a coiled wire spring. On top of that, Fram also has paper cover plates and a lower-grade of rubber for the anti-drain valve and the sealing ring.
That's awesome. It's fair to say that there's a lot more to a smooth, long-running engine than what oil and filter, though.

NVM, found the fine print "STP Extended Life Oil Filter (up to $8.99*)".
does anyone know if it is ok to mix the different thinkness like 20 & 30?
For what it's worth, I ran Super tech oil in my Wrangler. 7500 mile oil change and had Blackstone analyze the oil. They said it was wearing well and that the additive package showed that I could go longer between oil changes. Nothing wrong with Walmart oil.
That said, I still run Mobil or Pennzoil in my new car. If you catch it on sale, the name brand stuff can frequently be had for cheaper that the Walmart stuff when coupled with a filter and (typically) after a rebate.
