MSI is a good brand. I built my desktop using their parts.
Regarding the laptop, I think it is good for everyday usage with light gaming. It is a bit odd to see a laptop with a strong CPU and weak GPU combination, though. Definitely not a gaming laptop configuration, IMO.
I'm not familiar with this brand, what's their story? Are they a good brand?
This is a well known gaming laptop brand. They make solid stuff, it just depends what ur needs are. I actually have one with gaming specs, but I use it for photo editing not gaming. It works awesome!

MSI is a good brand and make good gaming laptops. I just got the deal for $750 with the i5, 8GB RAM, GTX 1660ti.
For $670AR and only sporting a GTX 1050ti, I'd rather wait till there was another deal for the i5 version for $500AR. I don't think this the extra two cores are worth the added cost if your end goal is gaming.
If you use it for more productivity work but want to do light gaming, I would see if there is another i7 deal with 16GB RAM and a GTX 1650 for around $700.
Or if you game, I'd rather have an i5 and a GTX 1660ti than an i7 and a GTX 1050ti/1650.
The i5 version of this was 1st page deal here 2 weeks back. That one was $499.
I've been using it for a week now (not for gaming) and it's a very nice well build keyboard. Screen is NOT IPS but very bright and color production is very good.
Almost minimal bloatware out of the box and for the price, it's very decent hardware ...speakers are very good compared to other laptops.

Thanks. I was looking for a gaming laptop, so I guess I'll pass with this one.

Thanks for the reply. If you don't mind, what would you recommend for gaming, under 1200?

Ooh, thanks so much for that explanation, appreciate it.

why is so hard to find a cheap 17.3" laptop with touch screen AND 1080p resolution?
Touchscreen and gaming don't go together. This is a "gaming" laptop... Albeit weak sauce though...
People don't want to look through greasy fingerprints and smudges while gaming...
