Bought a package of RJ-45 pass-thru connectors for $6 and a crimper for $5 on ebay. You can buy 1000 feet of CAT5e cable from amazon/ebay for like $40.
Now I can make a patch cable that is exactly the length I need, takes me just a couple of minutes.

Any reason to not go with MP? They offer lifetime warranty on their cables
Prefer to avoid shipping costs for only a couple cables.
Ha, fair. Same issue here. I usually only purchase from MP once I know I need a lot of cables lol.

I've wired my house with Mediabridge cat6 and I've been happy with it.
Get over it, no one bothers to learn proper terminology with computers because everyone is an expert maybe. I remember when I did tech support 20 years and would instruct people to select the radio button or choose something in a drop-down listbox and no-one had a clue what I was talking about. The remedy was something like "tick the bubble."
Even people on the radio don't know the difference between a backslash (under the pipe key) or a forward slash (under the question mark). Heck I even worked with a Telecom engineer who called a brace a "squiggly bracket."
This is literally the SlickDeals conundrum, and why you see people saying "I have 9 umbrellas now" or something similar. My approach is if I don't need it and it's not 99% off or a price mistake, I'll pass. There will always be another sale.
