With taxes, comes around $1,250 - which is quite good for the latest generation business laptop with excellent specifications.

Compare how? They are different versions for different purpose. This has no dedicated graphics card, but portable at 14" 3.5lbs and the latest generation Intel processor, compared to 8th Gen Intel with dedicated graphics and 4K screen on Gen1 Extreme.

Was looking at this exact same spec on Lenovo's site, and then your deal popped up. The price for the exact spec on Lenovo's site is currently $1,649.00 with their coupon code (That's $1800 after taxes). You saved me almost $500 after taxes. Thank you!

I believe the X1 Carbon is 2.5 lbs. I have an older gen. It's very light.

the 8750H is still more powerful than the 10710U, fyi.
ofc, drains a lot more battery too.

Agreed on the processor. This X1 Carbon is meant for business and X1 Extreme can be for workstation / semi-gaming use.

Just a heads-up that the one with the brighter (500nits) screen for $80 more is an i5 and not an i7 processor.

Also, Lenovo makes great computers (Thinkpads only), but should you ever need customer care, they are beyond awful.

Despite the similarity in name the X1 Extremes are 15" laptops, not 14" like the regular X1 Carbon. They're not comparable.

Advice on how this compares to the 6th gen i7? Perks at work has the build below for $1250:

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 6 (14") Laptop, 14.0inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) IPS anti-glare, 300 nits, 8th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-8650U with vPro™ (1.90GHz, up to 4.20GHz with Turbo Boost, 8MB Cache), 16GB LPDDR3 2133 MHz (Soldered), 512GB SSD PCIe, Windows 10 Pro 64

Why was I asked for password after clicking the link https://slickdeals.net/?adobeRef=91690718326811ea943a324be198f5910002&sdtid=13785914&sdop=1&sdpid=13...
It is for LifeMart members, which is typically available through work benefits (like the post above regarding Perks At Work). The password is in the post, which is not user or company specific.
