This price is $5 lower than the last time this Blu-ray player was a Frontpage Deal. -oceanlake

UBKC90 is just the Costco specific model number of the UBK90. Otherwise identical.
Had one for a year now and love it. Interface is bare bones, but for its intended purpose (playing 4k discs, especially those with Dolby Vision), no complaints.

Got it in the last deal from woot and it did not work, return process was easy on the good side. Got the sony UBP-X700 which periodically goes on sale and it worked perfectly.
I compared the specs on LG website and they seem to be pretty much the same. I was able to pick refurb ubkm9 from ebay for less than this. It also sells for $175 new at Walmart.

The same supporting Dolby/HDR versions? I'm worried on ending up with a beta/VHS issue. I mostly stream for my home theater room but I'm upgrading my projector to 4k and wanted physical media to get the full experience.

All 3 i.e. ubk90, ubkm90 and ubkc90 support dolby vision and hdr10 so you are covered with any of them. I am using ubkm9 with a 4k projector and so far it's good for no frills 4k player. if you want to step it Panasonic 4k player which allows adjustment to HDR will take you to the next level but it retails for close to $300 and on sale around $200.

Thanks. Appreciate the info. Think I'll pick one up on eBay!

Would a Brand new Xbox one s for $150 be worth the extra $50 for a 4K DVD player? Would want the 4K dvd on it for my self and the Xbox games and stuff for my kids. Thanks

There's no such thing as 4K dvd. Also Xbox one s cannot play native 4K games

I'm learning that the Xbox One S at this point does not support Dolby Vision for 4k blu ray.
Also experiencing some lag between the sound and video which I believe is isolated to the Xbox, not the tv, cables, or soundbar.
In short, a dedicated 4k player may be more suitable than an Xbox for physical media.

That's my question too. This or wait for another.
