This heavy duty 3 Ton car jack constructed from precision-welded steel gets vehicles almost 2-feet off the ground. Dual piston Rapid Pump technology lifts most work loads in just 3-1/2 pumps.

Ramp is good, but that wont help you rotate your tires.

Not sure what this has to do with Jacks but no - if you used an oil valve like the Fumoto you would never be taking the item off and would never require a new (crush) washer. The reason your car requires a new (crush) washer with each oil change is because you are removing the oil plug today with an oil change and the previous washer is already "crushed". On an item like Fumoto you install one time and are done. To get back to topic HF makes good jacks, I have the 3 ton low profile and it has never given me an issue after years of use.

I agree with you, only because of the 3 year warranty that comes with it

I do my own oil changes. Use $30 set of plastic Gorilla ramps if I remember the name right.

Do I *need* this jack?

As others have said, only the yellow one for $169 (189-$20 coupon) is worth getting. You could also get a Costco jack which will essentially have a lifetime warranty then due to the return policy.

If you are only doing oil changes you don't need a jack I would say. If you are doing tire rotations, brake changes, etc then it's worth it.

If you're doing only fluid changes then no but to rotate tires or do minor break works you need a floor jack and at least a pair of jack stands. Floor jack is not for holding your car in position but just to lift it. Always use jack stands and floor jack as fail safe.

Edit: I would prefer yellow Daytona or just get the 3 ton low profile Pittsburg for the same price as this. No big difference.

Other than fancy colors and sharing a name with their better jack, how is this low level "Daytona" any better than their standard Pittsburgh 3-ton jacks that are usually available for this price?

Note that the 5"-18" lift range is about the lowest I've seen for jacks of this tonnage.

If you don't get the Yellow one - then you can't boldly get underneath your car and work with just the Jack alone like Scotty. But of course one of these days - you get home and don't see any new videos posted during the day - you can take a guess as to what happened. I got two of the yellow ones - last year - similar deal - $179 with this $20 coupon and one is still sitting unused - but I guess once you get these - they are okay - the only advantage is with the jack beam on top of it I can get my outback about 30" off the ground.

What makes the yellow one special? Just the warranty?

Question for everyone - Is the yellow jack really 115 lbs? Seems like quite a lot of jack to try to roll around your garage.
