There's a lot of valid privacy concerns with these TVs (TCL is a brand owned by the Chinese government). What I did was simply attach a 4k Apple TV to it and leave it in "dumb" mode without wifi.

Too many variables to consider but seems like non-qled is better at motion and pretty sure that outweighs all the better specs of the qled for me. Especially since with all the praise for both, people started a chain of how garbage motion was. I didnt think it was that bad, so I'll take the tv that's even slightly better at it. On top of that, the qled doesnt seem to be justified by the higher price value wise. Only thing that might let me consider the qled is if price gap lessens a bit and people can convince me there is no need to worry about panel lottery or is very rare to get a bad qled panel. Afaik, non-qled still plays the lottery and not enough comments from the qled buyers to really get a feel on what that lottery is like.
Great picture quality, especially when lights are off.
