While they're playable, both are somewhat buggy (Invisible Berserker, Jack glitching and locking you out of side mission rewards, possible softlock of the entire campaign run if you backtrack too heavily, ranked tracking placing Onyx+ players in bronze and keeping them there, heavier gnasher inconsistency than ever before, the list goes on...). The monetization is almost that of a free-to-play title as well, which is also frustrating.
Hoping future title updates address a good chunk of these issues. In the meantime, wait it out unless you're really in the mood for a new Gears title.

I currently have game pass ultimate with Gears 5 ultimate that includes Halo characters and xp bonuses but game pass is about to expire so what would happen to my character and xp bonuses that I achieved if I buy and play this ? Thanks
This still get 4/5 ratings. So it can't be completely trash unlike Fallout 76...

Those ratings are paid for. This game was pretty bad so they started deleting bad reviews
Yeah there's truth to that at some sites (but fans like them still. Per BBY, 4.7 ratings out of 700. The sample size aren't likely to be paid reviewers at least in a smaller sample size with some % of marginal errors.
Bottom line, game look and run good at least. Not the worst nor broken as other games out there
