definitely wanted the free installation but when checking out:
Included with installation:

Car Deck Installation - FREE (reg. $64.99)
Metra - Dash Kit for S Topkick - Black - $16.99
PAC - RadioPro5 Radio Interface - Multi - $129.99
Metra - GM Factory Antenna Adapter for Select Vehicles - Multi - $13.99

I believe I have all that stuff already since I put an aftermarket radio a few years back on the vehicle, there is no way just to have the free install without adding the extras.

I purchased it and will try to install myself EEK!

As long as it has blue tooth - you are all set.

You dont need sophisticated indash navigation systems, they go obsolete in 6 months and manufacturers never update them. You are better off with an excellent sound system/unit and do all the navigation via your phone.

If you are looking for an indash unit - this is the way to go. Dont fall for all the gizmos crap, they are just a distraction and more stuff than can go wrong.

Yup!!

With free install, this is a no brainer for anyone that needs a quality double din.

Only knock on this is that it doesn't have HD radio.

Hmm, what if I got this installed, then replaced it with a unit with Carplay? It seems as though this installation + parts is greater than the price of the head unit!

I checked both of my cars (1991 Nissan Maxima, 1999 Toyota Sienna) and the site said it would fit either of them but did not mention needing any additional accessories. Does your car mention those things?

There are two options for me, free installation which includes all those extras (can't remove them)
Or install myself.

I picked install myself. Looks like I have to buy a double din kit at the very least.
There is currently an aftermarket pioneer flip out dash screen so I am HOPING that with those extras that were purchased years ago, it will be somewhat of a plug and play

I think it depends on the item - if I chose a random Carplay unit, it showed different places.

Keep in mind, you probably will need a harness (~$17), maybe brackets (~$17).

BB installers will usually work with you. If you ordered the free installation and paid for the required extras, when you drop off the car tell them you probably don't need some of the equipment and they will probably refund you what they don't end up using.

It has 90's tech (CD player), but no USB connection? I get most will just use BT, but a USB for a thumb drive would have been useful.

Nevermind, does have USB. Was not obvious, but read through specs. Must be a covered port.

It's weird. If I just search for stores in my area and go to store details, the 2 within 5 & 10 miles of me both show car stereo install services. I just ordered the stereo and separately scheduled an appt @ the closest store. We'll see how it goes.
