I guess it doesn't matter all that much since they still have a lifetime warranty.
There's really nothing wrong with dual purpose metric and standard wrenches/sockets. Give Metrinch a try if you don't believe me.
So not a good deal from a price point.
The quality of the sets I got were good enough, but the locking mechanism is weak, so skip it. Get a good set of gear wrenches or even craftsman.

If you got 3 wrenches for $26.88 that's about what they sell the single wrenches for at Sears as open stock so that's like spending $45 for a set of these, so I'm assuming you meant the first.
I haven't had any issues with the locking mechanisms and I've got 3 sets of them.

I don't see how it's any less practical than these 20 piece socket sets that have 4 sockets, a ratchet and 15 bits.
But hey if it's too gimmicky for you don't buy it. I'm not asking you to. I said what the practical use cases were. It's inexpensive. That's pretty much the same reason I stopped posting Sears/Kmart deals, too many complaints of "I thought Sears" was closed, because it simply becomes a waste of my time to do so.
Sure it's a gimmicky tool but it can certainly still have uses to some people who are interested in it. It's not like a Tiger Wrench commercial where I dig through a mess of unorganized wrenches and say "just throw your whole drawer full of wrenches away!".

I agree...too some extent except, vintage craftsman wrenches are highly sought after now so if you do find a set for a cheap price consider yourself lucky. Even the older Craftsman plier type tools are being sold for 2-3x the original price on eBay as long as they have the magical "Made In USA" on them somewhere.
Secondly, the issue with a lifetime warranty on all our older USA made tools is the fact that they will be exchanged for the lesser quality China Tools. I have some of the Taiwan made Dewalt wrench's and sockets and thus far I am impressed with the quality of the wrenches and the thin walled sockets. I love the knurling on the Dewalt Sockets also.
