This knife is wonderful, btw. Do I wish it had the end cap? Yes, but there was no way to justify paying over double the price for only that change compared to this one. I also got the 7" Santoku and they are both great! We don't use a lot of different knives regularly, but I've got my eye on the bread knife and perhaps the serrated utility and/or ultimate utility knives to have a well-rounded small set, as the knife set I'm replacing was literally free from a grocery store 10+ years ago...
