This is the same as the TDM0700 labeled with their "TRY ME" teasers. Great knife, had one 6 years now and never needed sharpening. Great steel!

Code "weekend" gets free shipping , tax in most states.

What's the difference between this and the regular premier paring knife that's more than double the prince?

This one doesn't have the metal end cap on the handle.

I love Shun knives, but my wife and daughter have ruined the blades on the couple that I've bought previously... they don't grasp the concept of washing and drying immediately... left the blades in the sink to rust... I'll stick with my Wustof Classic blades which are more forgiving. ..

This knife doesn't need the metal endcap for balance.

It's been this price virtually everywhere (including at Williams-Sonoma) since well before Christmas. How do I know? Because I bought it from Williams-Sonoma in December for this exact price.

This knife is wonderful, btw. Do I wish it had the end cap? Yes, but there was no way to justify paying over double the price for only that change compared to this one. I also got the 7" Santoku and they are both great! We don't use a lot of different knives regularly, but I've got my eye on the bread knife and perhaps the serrated utility and/or ultimate utility knives to have a well-rounded small set, as the knife set I'm replacing was literally free from a grocery store 10+ years ago... LMAO
