Objectively: you're wrong. There is a major difference in the quality of construction and components between cheap earbuds and expensive ones, and the difference is clear when used with professional audio equipment (as well as when you use something for hours a day, day after day, for years on end).
If cheap earbuds work for you, great. But to call someone mentally unstable for understanding the difference between low and high quality products is naive.
These are still earbuds, correct? $220/$750 earbuds after discount. If one is such an audiophile why would you go with earbuds instead of over the ear headphones? What kind of sound source is made worth enough to run these?

Does anyone own both W60 and W80? Curious if W80 is worth the upgrade? I currently own Shure SE535 LTD and Shure SE846. I been looking at the W60 and W80, trying to decide if I should get one of these to add to my collection. Thanks for your input.

i dont own w80 but I own w60 for 3 years. i heard w80 on a loan for a few weeks. to me, they sound a bit more neutral with slightly better mids and base. only time i really heard it during bass heavy songs or female vocals. it has this extra umph.

I own the W40 and previously owned the SE846, W80's, and the SE535. The W80 is absolutely worth the upgrade from the SE846. I was very impressed by it, even at the original MSRP of $1500. It's overall more refined than the SE846 (although the SE846 has stronger more impactful bass if you're a basshead), more realistic bass, less harsh highs, smoother mids, less fatiguing both sonically and physically as it was one of the most comfortable universal IEM's I've ever worn. It just felt that it was a tier above the SE846, even though I loved the Shures, especially for EDM's.

Thank you for your input. I am super tempted now... Not a good timing especially when I just spent a ton of money over the holiday.

Iconian, thanks for your reply. Would you say the W60 is worth the upgrade from Shure SE846? I been reading online, some people really think the Westone sound is better then Shure, i know its subjective. I ended up with the 846 because I wanted the extra bass, even though i am not a basshead at all. I always thought the SE535 was lacking in the low end. Unfortunately I can't audition these where I live, but I know if I buy the w80 i can always return them... thanks for your time.

I have many headphones but when it comes to everyday usage its just so much easier to carry earbuds. Plus once you put on a good tip, these IEMs can block out majority of the outside noises essentially making them "noise cancelling" Plus the sound stage and clarity of these high end IEMs really hold their own against expensive headphone. Its really a personal preference but I rarely use my headphones when I travel now.

i have used 846's too. for me the main difference is this
1. 846 has more base, thus making it more neutral to slightly cool
2. w60 have more warmths, close to tube sound.
i prefer w60 sound, but i wouldn't call it an upgrade. but more of a lateral movement, kinda like blonde to brunette

Probably just because the airpods came to everywhere in these days...
