Flew to Barcelona February of 2019 via Level. Worst traveling experience of my life. Didn't help that when we booked our tickets it was Iberia. Our confirmation said Iberia. Our online boarding pass said Iberia. Wasn't until we arrived at the airport and saw no Iberia that we found out it was their newly launched budget airline Level. It wasn't just us, either. Everyone was looking for Iberia to check in. Would have gladly paid much more to not be on that flight.
Yes, Level is pretty bad. Flew OAK-BCN last year on Norwegian, then BCN-SFO back on Level, and the experience was vastly different. Unlike most, we found the Level flight crew to be OK, but everything else was terrible — they didn't know how to check us in, boarding took forever, the in flight product was bad, etc. Norwegian on the other hand was better than expected.

Can anyone explain why ROC-BOS is $139, and BOS-BCN is $191; but the same flights ROC-BCN is $1250?

The magic of airline pricing.

Just book separate tickets, but leave plenty of time for your connection since you aren't protected and you will have to retrieve baggage and check-in on your own in BOS.

If it's on the same airline or a partner alliance you can request they check it all the way through to BCN, in this case. Done it multiple times.

I had a fantastic experience doing the same. New plane, easy flight, fantastic flight times and price. I did know it was Level going into it but curious on what you were disappointed with.

I noticed the flights BCN-SFO are via LIS. Was yours a direct flight or 1stop? If it's was 1 stop did you have to transfer your own luggage?
