Since Miiverse was discontinued, many of the features such as commenting on levels have been removed. For this reason, and the more versatile tool palettes in the sequel. I recommend the sequel over this version.

Not as good but way cheaper. Its worth it for the premade levels alone at this price.

edit. as lparsons points out below me, it's also worth noting that the sequel doesn't exist on Wii u. if you want a Mario maker game and don't have a switch, this is your only option.

Worth noting that the sequel was never released on the WiiU. Those who haven't bought a switch but still play on a WiiU will find this to be as good as it will ever get (not sure how many others of me there are out there but someone will find this to be a good deal).

I was looking at the pre owned deals for other games on their site and I'm unable to see the games when I click the "load more" icon at the bottom of the page.

Any one else having this issue? It's happening on Firefox and Safari on desktop and Firefox on Android. It shows maybe 10 games and then "load more" but then when I click it, it loses the page's design and orients everything vertically and still only shows those 10 or so games.

Great price for a great game if you can get it. There's still a lot a fun to be had with this version & I go back to it from time to time.

I prefer the Wii U version over its Switch counterpart. The online community is still very strong. Simply unbeatable at this price.

I ran into the same issue. I found that navigating to view all games for a specific platform (e.g. Wii U: https://www.gamestop.com/video-ga...ii-u/games) and then applying a pre-owned filter worked for me.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Is the switch versions more of a port than a true sequel then?

I have the wii u version and the switch version. While the switch may have more features overall, one thing it's lacking is the ability to record voice when creating your levels. It may not be a deal breaker but when used creatively, it can be pretty damn funny on your created stages.

Great game, but not sure how much longer online will be supported.

It's an expansion. Generally, it contains this one, plus addition elements to build levels with, and a different online network. The old one's community felt less grief-y, to be honest.
