I've had the same essence handle for over 5yrs and it still holds a charge for 2 weeks using it twice a day. Just mentioning since my experience has been different than some mentioned here.
Not .01 but still seems to be a solid deal if you're in the market for one

$20 with no discount seems to be the going rate.

I bought the fairywill toothbrush for $14 earlier this month, and after using sonicare since 2003, I'm happilly breaking away from their overpriced heads and handles that die every 2 years (I've replaced the handle probably 6 times now, both essance and series 2)

If you *have * to get sonicare, the essance are better than series 2 because the essance heads are slightly cheaper at costco.

Aliexpress has the fairywill heads for 50 cents each (or 2$ each at Amazon) . And I'm amazed at how high quality the bristles are. Flabbergasted. Not picking nylon out of my teeth, nor are the bristles feathering out after a single week of use.

Looks like you need to use a kohl's credit card at checkout to get the discount. Amazon seems to have the same deal at $20 though. I have this brush and would get a another for my wife.

Yup... totally can concur, that all sonicare essence and otherwise, only will live about 2 years. Even not leaving them sitting on the charger plugged in, I get about 2 years of life, and then the battery, which is not user replaceable - by design, so they can sell you a new toothbrush. That being said, the essence series 1 - usually is about $20, and not that big of an expense, but it has also happened to me with much more expensive sonicare brushes.

Thanks for the "fairywill toothbrush" tip. Will have to look into it.

I bought three of these at Kohl's once but paid a lot more than this. it's an inexpensive one from the different kinds but I like it it holds its charge for a long time. Used two heads are expensive however I can get them cheap on Groupon. Their generic heads but they work and they're cheap. I haven't found a heads any cheaper than getting them on Groupon. I love this toothbrush once you use it you can't go back to a manual. I got one for me and my daughter and my son and we use them all the time. no manuals anymore

I'd say about 3 month before you "should" replace.

I've had mine even longer! Still works great! My GF did buy us the two pack of model 4300 over Christmas, and I have to say that it's a night and day difference! I'm very impressed with the 4300.

Wow! What's your secret? Do you charge it every night? Share the handle with anyone? How often do you clean it?

The essance is the best of the handles IMO, gunk and spit be damned. It's so much stronger than the series 2 and all of the snap on handles.
