I guess fuel filters must be on sale too and a $5 rebate
Example for a fuel filter on sale with $5 rebate. This is for my 3.4l Chevrolet Impala. $8.28 after rebate.

Whatever you do, make it a point to change that oil and filter yourself.

The SOB PEPBOYS while changing my son's car oil, emptied the oil, removed the filter but forgot to put the filter back or feel the engine with oil again. This happened late on Friday (The tech guy had even initial fight on accepting our car, with his boss, because he had a new date on that night....) and by Monday when the car was returned to them because of engine sounding weird, they diagnosed ENGINE KNOCK, denaying any wrongdoing (Surely enough, now they put the oil and installed a filter in place!!!!
Long story short car was donated as there was no hope to repair!!!

Never, ever, PepBoys / Jeffy loop or likewise charlatans, mountebanks or quacks.

I guess the filters they use at the oil change shop are very cheap (low end)?

I think Walmart super-tech has better build quality base on the model I used for Mazda6 2017. Supertech has bigger can and more filtering media. The design are very similar, encore with metal clip and plastic pressure relief valve. End cap are both made with rubber so personally I would not recommend using them under extreme temperature.

Amazon erroneously says that the PF2057 does not fit the Honda Accord 2L 4 banger engine.

Does fit per the AC Delco website:

I agree with you for the most part, exception certain engines
(ie Hyundai were known to have issues with non OEM filters)
But from what I've read at BIOG site as long as you're not going long distance on your oil changes most branded filters are OK.

And I for one do not use motor oil past 5k. Yes it's still technically "good" but nothing cleans all the crap out like a fresh oil change. With a DIY oil change costing less then $25 for "full" synthetic how much are you really saving by going an extra 5k? Not enough for your piece of mind . . . ( in my opinion of course)

I prefer "professional" oil filters. Have had bad experiences with oil filters that only do this part time or on weekends only.

I don't know anything about cars.... but I'm thinking the pics hosted at bobistheoilguy.com show these filters aren't the greatest?
