Getting ready for 25 comments asking if this has a second RAM slot...

I will save you all the hassle, it does NOT have a second slot for RAM. RAM is single channel/slot only.

Does this charge via USB C? Looked at the product details but didn't see anything
No, it uses a generic charger port. If your charger dies or you want another one, you can get one from fleabay for $10.

Can it do additional display using the usb c?
Yes; that's one of the most common uses for USB-C.

To those who bought this what colorlooks "less cheap" if you know what I mean. I'm fine with pink too TY!
The "pink one" is more of a rose gold color and not effeminate at all, in my opinion. I bought one for my girlfriend but I wouldn't hesitate to use it myself if I didn't already have my zenbook pro.

I know right? These MFers would cry if it was a $200 with "only" an Intel i5 and GTX970M

Which can have more tabs open? 4gb chromebook or 8gb windows pc? Most of my work is done with all of google's apps and while it's not going to be my main work station, something portable is needed.
8GB Windows PC will allow more tabs to be open before you experience some paging. While ChromeOS is lighter than Windows, it's not zero, so of course the 8GB Windows machine can have more open.

Wondering about installing unreal development kit or unity to do simple development for a kid interested in learning? This work?
It really depends on which version of the engine you want to learn on. If you're just building small to medium sized maps you should be fine, but it'd really be worth the extra $100 for the Ryzen 5 version.

1. Does anyone know if the SATA drive can be removed in favor of dual-channel RAM? According to this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l32orFMzCIk), it would appear its possible.
2. Assuming the answer to number 1 is yes, how much of a price bump for an NVME drive + dual-channel ram would be worthwhile in light of the laptop being $200 as it is? For instance, if an NVME drive and dual channel memory (16GB say) would cost an additional $200, is the laptop worth $400?

thank you!

Don't know what the guy in this video is smoking, but there is only 1 RAM slot. You can't put 2nd RAM module in this book, with or without SATA drive.
This is a prime example of what fake news/rumors can do to a community in today's age with lots of forum/social media, and irresponsible influencers, etc.

Every single place that have any post about the motile, someone has posted this question... And all of the because of that Austin youtuber. I am gonna give him a small benefit of a doubt for being unintentionally ignorant. However, it's unforgivable that he never
make a video correction of his mistake or even a small correction comment.. it is especially UNFORGIVABLE because he's a professional youtuber making money off videos and knowing how much audience he has. So i am sticking a BIG MIDDLE FINGER up in his face.

I'm very tempted, had a first gen ryzen 2500u and it was horrible for battery life in linux.
Is 2nd gen that much better?
Eh, it's ok. It's not a world-beater, like some Chromebooks where you're getting 10+ hours on a full battery, but it's workable. 5-6 hours of screen-on time, you'll probably make it through the day before you need to plug it in.

I have a 4GB Chromebook and it barely works. The Chrome browser has such a horrible memory leak, that when you first open it you will have 1.5 GB free, but soon it will drop down to 200 MB and even if you close all the tabs but one that is where it will stay.

Search Google for Chromebook memory leak and you will see tons of posts and Google representatives asking if they are using the latest Chrome OS, and then no follow up. Google gets way more credit than they deserve for technological prowess. Maybe in the beginning, but it seems to be a bunch of mediocre hacks now.

Maybe in some other higher price laptop. Motile laptops both versions certainly don't have any DP or PD function in in the usb C. Data only.

I think that boat has already set sail a long time ago and probably not returning...
