After missing the deal on the 8TB for $115 last week, i kept going back to the page. Today the 10TB drive was on sale for $167.99. The coupon code LOCAL600 drops this down to $142.79.

I've shucked 2 of these last summer and they are humming along nicely in my media server

For at least a year now, the drives are always EMAZ1000, white label, which has the pin that you need to cover up or remove if you don't have a brand new power supply. This is for elements, my book, and easy store, the drive inside is always the same. They are easily shuckable, it's a plastic container and you just need to pry it off with a couple of credit cards or something similarly thin/hard. For almost a year the "deal" price has been $160, so this is pretty good. I have these deals on my watch and have bought 5 over the past year. Hope this helps.

If you want to plug them in via usb the way they are originally packaged, you have to connect both the usb cord and also a power cord to an outlet, FYI.

In terms of reliability, I use them for a Plex media server. So they get written to pretty much only once and occasionally read after that. First one I bought 2 years ago still hasn't failed. Not sure how reliable for continuous usage.
Nah, once I setup plex and sonar and radarr, I got a little obsessed with downloading more shows and movies even though a lot of it will never get watched. For some reason having the ultimate library is just exciting

Where do you put the coupon code in? Am I blind?

edit: Oh you do it in the cart. Too bad I got the 8tb the other day, don't really need the 10 though but I'm just making excuses...This is only about 0.7% of a better price than the 8tb per tb, so I am not too butt hurt. FP in...

On the cart page, there's a spot right under the estimated total.

Is it better to buy this 10tb? I just bought 8tb from Amazon for $115 last week.
Not yet opened it.

12tb is $186.99 with that code. No tax or shipping for me, unlike the $180 Best Buy deals which are taxed for me.

edit: nevermind I was charged tax at checkout. Went with 10tb.

Thanks for confirming. Pretty annoyed with the bait and switch from Plex right after I purchased Lifetime subscription.
