What are you talking about? How is it a fake? its a Super Ultrawide it is meant to replace 2 27" 1080p monitors.
This is not your conventional 1080p, its like stacking two 1080p 27" monitors together.

If you find 27" 1080p grainy then this is not for you.
Gamers.... many are nowhere near as smart as they think. This is a gaming monitor, but they want to judge it as a work monitor for creatives.

Absolutely no GAMER would ever care if a characters hair strand is closer to #ff4f1f than #ff4d1f. No GAMER would say Assassin's creed is ruined because the water doesnt match the calibration they set for their photography environment... color accuracy comments for the majority of gaming monitors tells me everything I need to know about ones opinion in this space.

Wouldn't 1080p be too grainy for a 49"?

Yes. It will be grainy. A 49" monitor is meant to be a 5K monitor. This is literally a fake to dupe unsuspecting buyers.

Can't speak for gaming as my 1070 died right before I got a 49 inch monitor however for text it isn't that bad. Is it as sharp as my 1440p monitors no. But when I go back to using those for productivity I feel like I am back in the stone ages. Ultra wide FTW.

Good question. The bigger the screen is, the farther you gotta sit from it to see. That's my experience on my 34" wide screen.
