And that came from the CEO of Lowes or someone who can predict the future. The hand tools are not diminishing, they are COMPLETELY doing away with them. Lowes has no need for Kobalt brand any more. Go to the store and take a look at the location of the power tools and hand tool leftover and you will see everything with your own eyes.

They are not replacing anything, they are getting rid of what they have . . . go to lowes site and select randomly 5-10 hand tools and you will see that the "Free Store Pickup" and "Shipping & Delivery" is not available for most hand tools anymore. Kobalt is no longer making hand tools, period.
As for the power tools, Lowes has no interest promoting them. Walk into any Lowes and you will see who is taking the priority (Craftsman). It's a matter of time until the power tools are going to be out too.
So you have info from the CEO, is that what you're saying?
I go in Lowes all of the time - there are 4 different Lowes in 2 states that I've been in during the past week. Maybe it's different wherever you are, but in the stores I've been in the Kobalt power tools take up at least as much shelf space as Craftsman power tools.
So, what's your source? Is it YouTube? Or are you just guessing?
I have 18 tools (including duplicates) and so far these have all been awesome. I already have 2 circular saws and they are very powerful. I just got the new inflator 2 weeks ago and it works great for car tires. It worked hard inflating my dually tires but powered through.

my source is: my conversation from the management from two lowes center, lowes and Kobalt warranty center (when i tried to exchange my Kobalt tools) and the several lowes location that i have visited that display a poor array of Kobalt tools with obvious domination and dedication to the Craftsman brand. the writing is on the wall, but as with any company the company management will keep telling you that all is good, that is until sH\t hit's the fan.
you really don't need to be a detective to see where this is heading. if you are looking for a news feed about Lowes and Kobalt plans, you will be waiting for a very long time.
the reality is that Crafsman sells better than Kobalt and more people know about Crafsman brand, many have no idea what Kobalt is. in addition Kobalt tools are overpriced and you will seldomly find any discount on them. The power tool brands at Home Depot are selling better.
Anyone try doing a HD/ryobi with this? buying the deal and returning/cancelling one part of it?
LOL, i was in the line to return some leftover from my project when this dude was stopped by the store manager telling him that he has to bring both items if he wanted a return.

God I wish people would stop saying this on every single Kobalt related post. Kobalt and Lowe's have made it clear that the Kobalt power tool line isn't going anywhere.

Ah, so what you're saying it is that you're guessing. Got it.

Good to know. So in fact the free tool in store is any of those listed on the first page of this thread?
I bought the charger and two battery kit for $129 got the ratchet for free. There were no signs promoting this in the store but the register rang it correctly.
The receipt shows $129 for the battery kit and $0 ratchet so no returning the battery kit to get the tool for less.
