Just FYI for those who are only interested in digital HD versions, all three of these titles are available individually through VUDU Disk to Digital for $2 each and all three are MA.

What infamous 3 hour version? I googled around and didn't find anything about a version longer than 96 min. I have both the Criterion and 30Anniv editions, which are both 96 min, and couldn't find any longer versions. Criterion has 50 min of deleted scenes, but they are like this and do not a 3 hr movie make: https://variety.com/2018/film/new...202651163/ . Even adding them to the 97 min movie only adds up to 147 min, 33 min short of 180 min.
If there is a 180 min cut of BC I want it please, but my googlefoo can't find any mention of it. IMDB usually knows these things and it isn't aware either: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088...teversions

Sorry 2 1/2. There was supposedly an elaborate musical number in the school swimming pool.
In a December 1999 Premiere magazine article for which the cast and crew of the 1985 cult classic The Breakfast Club were interviewed, it was revealed by the late writer/director John Hughes that over an hour of content was cut from the film before its release, presumably at the request of Universal Pictures, who had previously expressed fears of the film not resonating well with audiences, with the one and only copy of the uncut version in existence (as owned by Hughes) being screened for said magazine, in what is known to be its only screening. While the complete 2½ hour cut of the film remains unseen by the public, a selection of extended and deleted scenes were detailed by Premiere in their aforementioned article.

Holy sh*t, come on Universal (or whoever), John would WANT you to sell this, DO IT. I was hoping it was an edition that was available for purchase somewhere... but it looks like it would take a Mission Impossible type of deal to get it.
The articles writer watched it on a VHS tape (the only copy in existence). I'm guessing it is in the possession of his family along with the many of his unproduced scripts.

last thing i wanna see in the Breakfast Club is some elaborate musical number at the school pool. Thank god the studio interfered.
Yeah... that scene sounds a little out there... but JH was pretty crafty, so I would still have to see it before passing judgement. That said, the instinctive response is... "What?" .

Sixteen Candles - Arrow Films which is sort of like the British Criterion put out a kickass special edition last year. I know it is a region 2 disc but its nice.

The Breakfast Club - Criterion did put out a nice version of this. It's not the infamous 3 hour long version but it will do.
