Solid meh, dram-less, ok performance. You can get the black right now for 79.99 at the Western Digital store (You can drop it to $68 with student/teacher discount.) it's the version without the heatsink, but depending on your use case, it might not actually be needed (you can always get one on amazon for about $10.)
Amazon has the 1TB SN550 for $100. That's a lower cost per GB, and it should be faster as well (generally for the same model SSD a higher capacity is faster).
Delivery in 1-4 weeks but I got mine quicker than that. Because Amazon doesn't have it in stock, you have to choose Amazon as the seller from the buy box. This was a front-page deal a week ago.
i'm scared to ask. but imma ask anyways..lol..would this fit my 2013 macbook air? thanks in advance.
Google it, if there's an adaptor for your Macbook that allows using ssd NVME then it probably will, otherwise as direct replacement answer will be NO, since Apple uses different pin and socket layout.

I tried with my 2013 MacBook air and this ssd. While it does work, I couldn't get the sleep function to ever operate normally. I tried multiple different hibernation and sleep settings in terminal. Just an fyi.
Wow, didn't take long for the Newegg 1TB to sell out. Now it's $128 from another vendor or wait for Amazon to ship.
I'm new to the M.2 format so I'll ask here.
I have a Dell Optiplex, replaced the HDD with a 2.5" SSD, runs great. There is a M.2 socket on the motherboard and in the OptiPlex 5040 - Mini Tower Owner's Manual it shows:
Internal connectors: SSD M.2 22x80 socket3
So this Western Digital Blue SN550 NVMe M.2 2280 should fit, right? Does it come with/need a heat sink? I've never even seen a M.2 device so this interesting yet scary. Any info appreciated, thanks.
ETA: Later plan to clone (?) the M.2 to 2.5" SSD as a full system backup using Aomei, Easeus or whatever backup software on a regular basis.

The 59 is sata m.2, not nvme m.2

ETA: This link should bring you straight to Amazon as the seller: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...PDKIK

nvme vs not. Most m.2 use PCIe not SATA
Isn't beautiful a politely worded question, gets helpful responses.
