Please don't support media companies that were suing torrenters of this file for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I don't support torrenting, but it was damn near extortion.
I don't believe they can successfully sue for damages that high for downloading the movie... these people must have shared the move back out to thousands of other people.
If you're going to torrent, have your client shut off transfers before your sharing ratio hits 1.0 (i.e., you've shared the whole movie out). You can usually get the full movie downloaded before you even hit a 0.5 sharing ratio. If you want to be a (torrent) hero and share past 1.0, just remember it's always the hero's that pay the highest cost.

It's because they were arguing that the torrenters at the time were also distributing(seeding) the files, which many were of course.
Still, I didn't like that they essentially were targeting $300k+ lawsuits against 16 year olds that were downloading movies. Many people settled for like $5k to get it over with.
