You might not need this often but when you do. It is unbeatable
I've had mine (the older version) for five years and haven't used it once. It's brand new, sitting in my drawer. I picked it up when it was on sale for $10-20, figuring the one time I'd need it, it'd pay for itself. Definitely seems useful but I am struggling to find a use for it. I've remodeled both of our bathrooms, done a lot of automotive work, other projects around the house, and have never been able to find a use for it. My advice is if you have $20 to throw away, go ahead and buy it. If not, don't bother and pick one up when the need arises.
As an electrician, this is invaluable when the need arises to drill through a fire stop through a cut in box hole when fishing wires down existing walls. Works great with paddle bits and hole saws alike.

Ditto. It's not a lot of $$ but when I had a project installing a motion light in an exterior wall and had to drill near an eave this was invaluable. Having to trot out to a hardware store to complete the project would have sucked.

I had the Ryobi version of this and it literally disintegrated on the first use.

I'm in for one of these, it looks way better than the Ryobi.

Dang, I bought the Ryobi one from direct tools factory outlet on sale for $7, but this still sucks to hear. I guess you get what you pay for!

I bought one of these when I needed it for drilling holes to run cables close to a wall, and it works awesome. It's low profile so it really let's you get the bit much closer to the wall than a drill can get.

I hate this tool. Lack of handle makes it useless.

The whole thing is a handle...
