Used it to drill through vertical 2x4 to run NM wires.
Otherwise, i would have had to drill a little sideways.
You need to have drill bits with 1/4 inch hex shank.
Works ok but heats up rather quickly, get a heat resistant glove if you have a lot of holes to drill.
More compact and cheaper than than a right angle drill, so i can leave it in the toolbox for when i need it.
I was concerned about not having a handle but there is not much need for one.... except if you are using in an application that will suddenly stall the drive unit. For example, I was using aggressive wood boring bits with a screw tip lead to bore holes in 75 year old joists. Even with the sudden increase of torque the unit is manageable.
Durability: Its been great for me. I've pushed mine pretty hard by drilling holes back to back 10+ in 75 year old lumber. The only issue is that with highly repetitive and strenuous use it will get HOT at the point of the 90 degree gear drive. Hot as in hot enough to burn and cause a blister. I have used it with a standard drive and impact drive and its still running like new.
This opens lots of opportunity to drive screws in tight spaces.
I got the Ryobi one and have used it multiple times already and works great. I'm not sure what the other poster was doing, but I've not had the same experience. This one seems like it has a flatter head than the Ryobi which is an advantage in narrow spaces.
I'm in for one of these, it looks way better than the Ryobi.
You need to buy a boat. This will become indispensable.

The DWARA120 Right Angle Attachment is the updated version of the DWARA100 which is also impact ready but builds on the design by making it slimmer, now with a head length of only 1.5 inch. This allows it to fit into even tighter spots than before. Dewalt also claims it lasts 5x than it's competitors such as Milwaukee's own right angle attachment however that claim was also on the older DWARA100 model so it's longevity is about the same as before.
It's an SKU issue within their inventory system.
My order came in $5 cheaper, using a $5 Ace Rewards certificate that I didn't know I earned and that would have expired this month.
