Lexol is good, but at my historical usage rate across 2 cars this is about three centuries worth.
Original price $19, with coupon now it's $17. Is it worth hitting frontpage??
No idea. First, most of those reviews seem to be about the conditioner. However, I see very few reviews on the cleaner.

Second, I purchased the 16oz bottles just a couple weeks ago. They definitely do not smell like fish, just some chemical smell. Seem fine to me. But I also am new to leather care, so I can't compare to past product, outside products, and I've only used the cleaner and conditioner once. No issues personally.

Id say people just don't like change, but knowing how bad Amazon is in regards to fake product, anything is possible.

What's up with all the stinky dead fish comments at Amazon? The seller/manufacturer doesn't really give a straight answer. It's enough to scare me away. Too bad. Many reviews mention how good the old stuff was. Is the stinky stuff in the new formula replacing some chemical is used to contain but now deemed naughty?

I've bought this before and it doesn't smell like fish but does have a distinctive smell and it's not good. I got mine locally and assumed it was a bad bottle or something so returned it.

I used lexol leather cleaner on my 8" boots and I will NEVER use it again. It soaked in to the edges of the leather panels and when it dries it excretes out as dry white soap dust on every edge. Brush it off and it comes back in less than a day. I had dried lexol coming out of the leather of my boots for weeks after using it

I would stay away from this, followed the directions and it ruined my vintage leather bag. I would stick with apple brand cleaners and conditioners.
what is the apple brand of leather cleaners and conditioners do you recommend?

I have used lexol products for almost a decade with great success. They do tend to last forever no matter how liberally you use them.

I had the same experience...not a good smell, but I used it anyway with some regret. It cleaned car seats nicely, and I felt the "creamy" cleaner it is treated the seats for protection. The smell went away in a few days but I'm not tempted to buy again simply because it did last a few days.

I was referred to Zaino z-9 and z-10. Their bottles aren't big but they do the job and the leather smells and looks great. They are running a 15% off right now.

That's why most will say to apply a small amount on a non visible part in case there's a reaction. I've tried a few now, cheap and expensive brands, and never noticed any damage personally.

Tbh, a lot of these cleaners/conditioners use the same chemicals/ingredients, they just swap out some stuff here and there.

This is a great deal for leather cleaner, if you need this much.
