Google - Pixel 3a - Just Black (Verizon)

Can do 24 payments of $8.33/month (no bill credits) or pay now $199.99 and a Verizon activation fee of $40 for either offer. Plus tax. Upgrade or new line. Looks to be store pickup only.

Good deal for a decent phone. Verizon will unlock it after 60 days of service EDIT: Possibly unlocked out of the box per this article:https://www.droid-life.com/2018/1...l-for-now/ I can not confirm this, though.

Thanks H0Tfudge for the 3a XL at $279.99, same details as above:

How long does one need to be on postpaid Verizon before it can be moved to an MVNO?

Isn't the Pixel 3a unlocked out of the box?

When Sprint had a similar offer, I was able to cancel the service but keep the phone.

If this ended up being an unlocked 3a for $240 + tax out the door, I'd be very happy.

Can you have them not put the SIM card in the phone and then cancel service within 3 days to get a full refund, including the activation fee? I did that with Verizon and the Moto G7 last fall.

Possible, according to this article:

https://www.droid-life.com/2018/1...l-for-now/

Personally, I would assume it will be locked for 60 days and if it is unlocked, then that is just an added bonus.

Clearly we need a pioneer. Who's willing to take the hit?

If I'm currently month-to-month (no contract) with Verizon postpaid, can I grab this and just pay a $40 "upgrade" fee without committing to a contract? Or is the whole catch that you're on the hook for a 2-year contract if you do this?

I think if you don't use the SIM card BB provides for you and continue to use the current SIM you don't pay the activation fee. At least this used to be the case. Also I thought it helped to have the phone shipped so you can dispose of the SIM card that's sent separately or you remove it before turning on and activating the phone. Not sure if BB turns the phone on with their SIM in store before you leave.

Do you need to have a Verizon line and/or activate new service for this deal?

No contract. You can pay the one time cost of $200 or do the 24 payments of $8.33 per month. You can pay off the phone payments after 15 days I think. Would be easier to pay the $200 upfront but if cash is tight then do the $8.33 per month. Keep in mind if you port the number or cancel the line, the remaining payments become due.
