just an educated guess.. if it's 500gb then most likely non-ssd 512 ssd. in 2nd one it does say 512 ssd.
Having said this, I am sure it is easy to swap the drive for an SSD, should be only a few screws.

Ya, they go in and out of stock. Anytime there is a blanket 35 - 45% coupon I'm too slow to grab one.
