My name is t_c and I have a SlickDeals problem. I clicked on the link for this and amazon tells me I bought it in July '17 for $14.10. That prompted me to go out to the garage and look around. I found it still in its packaging. LOL.
It's a good deal however never close to $38. It was $23 most of the last 4 years with drops to $13 in 2017 and the current price $16. Chart attached.
Edit: downvoting objective price data on a deal forum is like saying it's better to list MSRP as the original price on a sale flyer..

Anybody have this and would recommend it over getting a dedicated router? I already have a dremel
It uses 1/8" bits, not as strong as a regular router but still very useful for small jobs. Also, it only works with specific Dremel models.
If you don't have a big router and you need something a bit better than this, take a look at the Ryobi ONE+ P601 Palm Router (https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../206955202). It's not a plunge router but I'm waiting for a deal on it to pick one up.

Really depends on what you intend to use it for. A dremel can only handle very light duty tasks, like art projects, decorative carving, etc. Can't really expect it to, e.g., put an ogee on an 8' board, which is what I typically use my router for.

Thanks. I was just going by the price Amazon had lined out. Still a drop from $23 to $16 seems like an OK deal
Agree - this is only the second time it's been discounted like this in over four years on Amazon
I thought it was a good deal since I needed it but not slick enough to post.
