Thinking of giving this a try. I noticed a lot of reviews are "collected as part of a promotion". But then again one reviewer took off a star because there are not enough sports channels ota; WTF!

The old packaging went on clearance a few months back for $19. Some places sold it for $6.The old packaging was a little fatter than the new box. Good luck finding one.

Even though BS says no stock, I was pleasantly surprised to find one. Just look for the size of the box.

By the way, this is a really good antenna. Picks up way more channels than the cheap antennas.

Rather than wait 5 days through Walmart I picked this up from a local BestBuy price matched from $99.99 to $49.99

I bought one of these and compared to my old paper thin antennas, these pick up channels without even trying to point it in the right direction.

Is it really that good? I've tried several antennas and hate repositioning them. Can't do that with tivo recording. I live next to a road that has a lot of car traffic passing and that affects my signal along with the weather. Haven't found the best antenna. Outdoor ones aren't feasible.

Yeah...I have this indoors leaning next to my tv (unmounted). It picks up every major channel while facing the wrong direction. However, it does lose signal when I walk in front of it.

all the antennas i've tried work when you're nearby and don't when you walk around. like in the days of the old rabbit ears. or the picture pixellates when the cars/trucks drive by.

guess i should give these a try. thanks!

Did you previously try indoor antennas (ex. the flat style one like mohu leaf) and you didn't receive as many channels? About how many more did you receive using this antenna?

Yes, I've used Mohu flat style and could only get some of the major network channels depending on the direction the antenna was facing. With this one, I get every network channel and all the foreign language ones and I don't need to point it in the right direction to get it to work.

Picked this up for $13 at walmart last year and i had the totally opposite experience, I had a cheaper flat one that i got at a sears on clearance (cant remember brand but it was rated for 50 miles) and got more with that than i got with this. Which was weird because it was rated for less miles. I do live in the middle of nowhere though so i dont blame this product. I have yet to find one that really works for my situation

I have this antenna. I put it in the attic and pointed it to the transmitters which are about 12miles away. Most channels came through very clear, but the local ABC affiliated didn't come through at all. I took a sheet of aluminum foil and hung it to the back of the antenna like a backplate and it found the missing channels. There's a newer version of this antenna that has a mesh backplate that solves the problem I was facing. This a good price for this antenna and a simple sheet of aluminum foil can improve it's performance even more.

Does it matter if you put the shiny side one way or another?

No, it doesn't matter.
