Agreed! I bought a laptop recently and didn't even think to check for an SD slot since every laptop I've ever owned has had one. I find myself missing it often, and annoyed that I have to hunt down my usb-c to SD card adapter each time.
I purchased 3 refurbished Helios 300 directly from Acer and all 3 were returned. Every single one of them had something wrong with it. The first one had a faulty track pad, where every time I clicked on something it made a weird noise, the second one had a bright white spot in the lower left side of the screen, which got really distracting while playing games and the third one had a faulty GPU fan (wouldn't even spin). Quality control is a huge issue with these, it can be a hit or miss. I would go for new over "refurbished".
Weird. I have the 2018 model, and it has the SD slot. It's extremely useful if you do photography/videography. I do have a USB reader as well, and it's annoying to deal with in comparison. I'd rather give up the ethernet port.

Get a USB adapter that you can stick your sd card in 🤷 ♂️

I don't know who downvoted you but those adapters are like 5 bucks so I absolutely agree.
You seen it? I never seen it. I seen a lot. We all seen so much
All signs point yes especially since it is underclocked and thermals are great.
