Musician's Friend is having a 15% off sale when entering code PRESDAY20 at checkout. For this to work on Roland products, type the code in and then when an info box pops up, use the chat function to talk to a rep and they will apply in manually. I was able to get a Roland TD-17KV V-Drums Electronic Drum Set for $1,020 + tax. Also qualifies for their rewards program which will net you another $80 in credit 45 days after purchase.
This may not be a killer deal, but I've been on the hunt for a Roland V-Drum set for a while and this is by far the lowest I've found brand new.

It has better cymbal that you'd want at this price range. My 2 cents.

Edit: I wasn't aware of the even larger 15's, and I'm not sure it would have made a difference in my decision. I'll add that while you get the better hi-hat's, you also need to buy a dedicated stand for them, which is not the case for the KV IIRC. I certainly didn't intent to deter anyone from the OP's kit- If you have the itch to play, just get the set you can afford now, you can always add-on later.

I debated on that one as well, but after doing some research, I found that most people would rather have CY-15's then the CY-12s when moving up cymbals...figured with the money saved, I would eventually get a CY-15 or two down the road when my skills improve.
Don't forget it's 2020, so if for some really strange reason your mind just cant handle a .01% difference in symbols, you can 'hack' by ordering symbol replacements and putting the upgraded ones on there.
While others are saying wait for this one or that, I say get it, it's a great deal! I've listened to 'wait to get this one' before and have been screwed more than once.
Just my Fiddy cents
Last time I looked TD-20 was the top of the line and TD-30 was just coming out.

I missed out on Sweetwaters great pricing on the TD25KV and can't bring myself to spend a lot on the TD17 (in general) but I'm curious if this would work on other models and/or Alesis (thus the clarification on applying the coupon)

Still works as instructed; do have to do a little work and wont automatically show in cart.

I'm new to drumming, so figured this would be a good model to start at; hopefully one day, the skills develop to warrant something like the TD-25 or higher.
I once wanted to return something and they didn't provide me return shipping label. UPS charged ~$100 by the weight. They even deducted original shipping charges from refund.
