It's the latest as far as their standard iPad. It's basically an ipad Air with a more affordable price. It's not a bad price for the 128gb

I just bought one last week. The A10 chip is still very fast. If you just need a cheap tablet for browsing and media this is the one to get.

However, if you buy the tablet using Costco Citi Visa card you might qualify for the Citi extended warranty as I couldn't find any exclusions on their website besides cars, boats and tires. The kicker there is you have to file a claim with their insurance company.
