You can get it at Google Shopping with the $10 off code to bring it down to $169.99,

This drive hits the $0.015/GB sweet spot. If you have been waiting for the 12TB shuckable drives to go on sale, you won't get much better than this.

Other $0.015/GB price breakdowns for reference:
$120 - 8TB
$150 - 10TB
$180 - 12TB
$210 - 14TB

Edit: too early to math.
Bring back the 14tb for $200 please!!!

assuming they're similar to the 8TB/10TB, yes--they will likely require the 3.3V pin modification if your motherboard won't recognize the drive.

Thanks! Is this typically the case for QNAP and Synology boxes?

actually people seem to have pretty good luck with Synology/QNAP devices not needing the 3.3v mod as long as they're relatively newer (for reference as to what "newer" means, the spec that caused the problem was announced back in early 2016, but probably wasn't ubiquitous until a year or so later). the need for the mod in the first place is typically due to older devices not knowing what to do with the "disable" pin the newer SATA specification uses, but dedicated NAS devices seem to have dealt with it pretty early on.

I've shucked one so far with no need to do the 3.3v mod. I think the mod also depends on the motherboard. I'll be shucking two more in the next week.

Is this better than the 12tb elements? Or is it the same drive?

Same drives different names to prevent price matching.
