The whistling scene from the first episode is changed. It also seems like a lot of ambient noise has been removed, taking the realism from many scenes. Dialogue scenes in areas where there should be other noise, the background is completely silent and you only hear the voices.

Other sound effects are changed (gunshots sound much more fake), music starts and stops in different places. Some scenes (mainly space scenes) have been rendered completely silent, where ambient noises giving life to scenes once were.
In fact, in the final episode (SPOILER) when the doves fly across the screen and the song transitions from the choir to the instruments, the chill-inducing upscaling tone of the choir that's a part of the actual song is removed in the remix and replaced with some kind of lame windchime sound, completely ruining the feeling that the original gives.

To top it off, the entire series was put through a simple "brightening" attempt which does in fact wash out the colors greatly. It makes some scenes easier to see that may have been darker than necessary in the original, but they are few and far between.

Pretty disappointing that a single purchase doesn't just include both Japanese and English audio.

My Hero Academia is also $4.99 a season. Is that a good deal? I have every other season so am looking to fill in the gaps.

Great choice to burn some slow ship credit. English or Japanese? This is a rare situation where the choice isn't obvious.

Get the original hands down (the remix has better audio but scene cuts and even worse sound effects and song changes)... also... subbed over dubbed imho although this is one of 3 anime where both work well in english dubs (DBZ, Trigun and this)

At $5 each it's fine. This is one of the reasons why buying physical versions is still recommended, as you get both versions (if a dub has been made)
