Threshold delivery, for those wondering, is a tiny step up from regular delivery. Literally. Instead of leaving the item on the porch, they're kind enough to take 2 more steps and place it inside your house or garage.

Edit: I recognize it's better than nothing and can be beneficial to have that especially if you've gotta wait for an installer or additional help to set up the TV.

Excellent TV. Just bought it from Walmart a week ago for the same price. PQ is right up there with my Sony X900E. But the blacks are better than the Sony. This TV calibrates extremely well. Using HCFR and X-Rite meter I calibrated it down to below 0.5 Delta E, that is ruler flat reading! Based on this experience, TCL will be the first TV manufacturer I will look at when it comes to upgrade in a few years. Not sure about it's reliability though. But I bought a 4 year extended warranty for dirt cheap.

Any comments on the sound? Thinking about it buying it as a bedroom tv and don't want a soundbar.

There's also a calibration app by TCL. For both Android and iOS. Worked really well for me.

According to rtings [rtings.com], the sound quality is sub-par. I have the 2019 65" 6 series, and I'd say having a soundbar is definitely better than the built-in speakers.

Sound is terrible. i have the 65" version that I use with a surround sound set up. The sound is so bad that when I finally got around to testing the TV's speakers, I thought they were broken. The speakers on my 8 year old budget LG tv are better. The good news is, with the Roku App you can listen to the TV on a pair of headphones connected to your smartphone.

Personally, I would buy the most affordable sound bar that has HDMI arc, e.g. the TCL Alto 7 for $80 ($65 used) from amazon.

I have the 65" in living room and the TV speakers are perfectly fine for us for regular TV watching. You won't need a soundbar for a bedroom; it's not like you'll be struggling to hear or anything remotely close to that. I would guess the vast majority of owners use the TV speakers and don't even know what a soundbar is.

Does it have the dirty screen effect or banding? I keep seeing the TCL 6 series highly recommended everywhere, but seems like a lot of them have the dirty screen effect.

I picked up the 65" last week for 500. Really liking the set. Picture is super sharp and colors are wonderful.
I opted for the additional square trade for only 35 bucks upping the warranty to 5 years. My last TCL 55s405 crapped out just after 2 years, but my family really liked the Roku interface so I went back to them.
I did the hockey DSE test and definitely had a bit of dirty screen effect, but it was nothing that bothered me too much and nothing we'd likely see in everyday content that we watch.
