No, it works great for trim. The only thing is these 2 in 1 guns leave a larger hole to fill due to wider striker blade for the staple option. I found you can shoot at an angle to reduce this

I bought at $30 but the marks left by this in trim, even for brad nails, are the size of staples. I don't feel like having to spackle 3/16"-1/4" indentions instead of 1/16" is a good trade off for combining guns. $20 is a great price but I'm going to return mine and stick to separate guns.

Picking one up anyway as it is only $20, but this would be overkill for trim right-I need a finishing 14 or 16 gauge for that?
