$207 is the $50 off. It's $258 everywhere else. Been eying as a way to get into a router table setup without an expensive lift. Purchased. Thanks OP.

Don't want to speak for the OP but according to the camels the price of this router has been between $255 and $265 for a very long time. The recent drop to the $207 price represents the $50 discount mentioned in the title. OP feel free to clarify.

Edit. Qwerty beat me to it.

Best deal I've seen for a router that's somewhat in a class of its own (only real easy/accurate router for a table w/o a lift that I could find). I special ordered mine at HD with a 10% off coupon after a salesman at Rockler told me they rarely ever go on sale and this is even cheaper than that - make sure you register your warranty at Triton after purchase.

Obviously not a screaming deal by SD standards, but if enough people have been looking for this router long enough, its an FP deal.

It would be better to put the $207 plus tax in the Title.... $50 off "some price" doesn't mean anything.

Don't forget Amazon is in the tax collection business for every state. It is actually $219 with tax for me and more for other states. That is only 15% off the $258. I would imagine many of the other places selling this router when they have a sale don't charge tax in your state.

It is a real nice router for a router table but not exactly a screaming deal unless you were locked onto this brand and model.

Beginner cabinet maker, small shop or DIY guy? Generally most people buying a 3 1/4lb fixed router and a router table with the garage or shop space for it pretty much know what they will be using. Newbies tend to get the lighter hand held fixed/plunge routers then eventually build a table for it.

With that said figure out which bits will help the projects you do. Then buy those high quality one at a time. Brands Whiteside, Freud and Amana.

If you don't have a clue what you need then just grab one of the Chinese 6 to 12 bit sets on Ebay or Amazon. The ones by Huhao seem to get a little better reviews. They all come out of the same factories in China. Then once you see which bits you use with frequency get those in a pro bit. Bits range from $3 to $50. What you pay for is the quality of the cut for like fine work or resale etc. Then you pay for longevity but have to be able to sharpen them.

The ones I use are:
Round over, 1/16 to about 3/8.
Chamfer 45°, 30° and 15°
Straight bits, 1/4 to 3/4.
One or two Ogee bits

Any others are once in a blue moon. I dado with my table saw. Go on the woodworking forums and read about beginning routing. Also good stuff on YouTube.

3 1/4 HP from 120v? LOL. Marketing BS. Probably more like 1.5HP.

$259.47 is the 90 day average.
Attached 3-month chart if interested.

edit: downvoting price information on a deal forum... better to compare to the manufacturer suggested retail price if we don't know the normal price of this product?

Very nice router but seems like overkill for most people. I've got an old 1 HP B+D in my table and I've never thought I needed to upgrade it. Not the easiest to adjust but it performs just fine. I'd take one of these but for $200+ I have other priorities.

ridiculous BS marketing. No amp rating to be found. Maybe 12 which means max hp would be under 2.0 with no load. laugh out loud

Weird to see so many people down on this... When I've done research on buying a table router this is usually top of the list. Hell the table tops are usually specially made just for this router so you can easily raise or lower it. And the last time it was around this price was 5 years ago. Guess if it's not Dewalt or Bosch it's junk /s
